INTENDE VOCI CHORUS

Formed and directed by Mirko Guadagnini, Intende Voci Chorus (IVC) counts approximately 30 elements, is based in Milano and regularly performs at Festival Liederìadi, in Palazzina Liberty Dario Fo and Franca Rame.

IVC makes its debut in 2013 with “Petite Messe Solennelle” by G. Rossini, followed in 2014 by E. Chabrier and C. Debussy for female choir and F. Liszt’s “Via Crucis” at the Tempio Valdese in Milano.
In 2015 IVC has performed the “Requiem” by english composer Bob Chilcott (who also conducted his own work), then staged the pasticcio “Volver” based on Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s music. In 2016 it was again the turn of “Petite Messe Solennelle” by G. Rossini, then the “Requiem” by M. B. Panitti – first performance in Milano . and, in december, “Navidad Nuestra” and “Misa Criolla” by argentinian composer Ariel Ramirez.
On march 29th 2016 the choir also took part in the opera “Amadigi di Gaula” by G.F. Haendel at the Piccolo Teatro Studio of Milano. These performances were afterwards followed by the “Stabat Mater” by G. Rossini and the “Requiem K626” by W.A. Mozart.
In 2018 the female part of the choir gave the first ever performance of “Still Requies” by Mauro Montalbetti at the Triennale Teatro dell’Arte (Milano) then at the Teatro Grande of Brescia and finally at Festival Internazionale of Pordenone.
In 2019 the choir performed the Chichester Psalms by L.Bernstein at the Conservatory of Milano and the “Stabat Mater” by G. Rossini with orchestra in the fabulous Morimondo Abbey. In 2020, before the Covid-19 pandemic, IVC performed “The New Year Concert” with music by Benjamin Brittten.
In July 2020, IVC performed  Mozart’s Requiem for soloists, choir and 4-hand piano (Czerny version) in memory of the victims of the first wave of Covid-19 and in thanksgiving for the health care workers who dedicated themselves to caring for the sick. A great outdoor concert that marked the return of a choir in front of the public in the city of Milan.
