INTENDE VOCI ENSEMBLE
Intende Voci Ensemble is a group of Baroque singers. Under the direction and vision of its founder, tenor Mirko Guadagnini, the ensemble’s repertoire bridges Baroque music (especially Italian) and 20th-century music (primarily a cappella), creating a stylistic and vocal thread that highlights interesting parallels.
Intende Voci Ensemble is a group of Baroque professionals with a flexible structure, which varies depending on the repertoire being performed.
In January 2021, they completed their first recording, releasing a CD titled “MAGNIFICAT Alessandro Scarlatti – REQUIEM Herbert Howells” under the Urania Records label (Manzoni Editore). The album includes Salve Regina for SATB and Magnificat for five voices and basso continuo by Alessandro Scarlatti, Te Deum for eight voices by Domenico Scarlatti, and Requiem for four to eight voices a cappella and soloists by Herbert Howells.
In 2022, the ensemble performed the Vesperae Solennes de Confessore and Dixit et Magnificat by W.A. Mozart with the Canova Chamber Orchestra. In the same year, they recorded the world premiere of GLORIA for Eight Voices by Antonio Caldara, which they performed in 2023 for the opening of the concert season of the Accademia di Musica Antica di Milano, alongside Gloria by A. Vivaldi. In this second recording project, they paired Caldara’s work with LAUDA PER LA NATIVITÀ DEL SIGNORE by O. Respighi.
Intende Voci Ensemble has been featured in important festivals and musical series, including the concert season at the Teatro Grande in Brescia, the International Festival of Sacred Music in Pordenone and in Trento, and the concert season of the Accademia di Musica Antica di Milano.
