On 14 November 2022 at 8 p.m., Intende Voci Ensemble was a guest of the concert season at the Teatro Grande in Brescia.
With Mirko Guadagnini – one of the most appreciated interpreters of Baroque music – Intende Voci Ensemble paid tribute to Alessandro Scarlatti, dedicating the very title of the concert, ‘Magnificat’, to the well-known Sicilian Baroque composer. The programme, however, in addition to exploring the baroque musicality of Scalatti father and son Domenico, combined the eighteenth-century repertoire with one of the most sublime masterpieces of the sacred twentieth century, the Requiem by Herbert Howells, for a dialogue between ancient and modern that always proves fascinating and surprising, as explained at the beginning of the concert by Guadagnini himself.
